Cedarwood Veterinary & Animal Emergency Hospital works with breeders to offer specialized reproduction and breeding services. We use our years of expertise to increase pregnancy rates, improve genetic health, and ensure safe deliveries and neonatal care.

We offer the following reproductive services to help breeders develop a successful program:

In-house progesterone testing to track fertility and estrus cycle
Semen collection, long-term storage, and shipping
Vaginal, transcervical, and surgical insemination
Pregnancy X-ray and ultrasound checks

Our Goal

We will work with you to determine the best insemination procedure for your female, and use progesterone testing to determine ideal timing. We’ll schedule imaging to check for pregnancy based on your pet’s expected timeline, and follow up throughout the pregnancy to ensure she stays healthy. Our hospital is also well-equipped to handle ongoing puppy and kitten care needs, including health checks, genetic screening, vaccinations, deworming, and parasite prevention.

Our reproductive health team is passionate about producing healthy puppies and kittens, and we love what we do. Our goal is for your pet to deliver their litter naturally at home, but some breeds or individuals may experience birthing difficulty, and we recommend that you call us or bring your pet to us as soon as you suspect a problem, because prolonged deliveries can endanger the neonates’ and mother’s health. If your pet has a history of difficult births, we may recommend you bring them in for supervision when labor begins.
